Five life hacks at the intersection of Money & Life strategy
SIGNAL TO NOISE
Your attention is a commodity, and the competition is fierce.
Every ounce you give away to noise is an ounce lost to signal.
Hack💥
Begin spending time without your phone, deliberately, consciously,
principally. This is also a great time to scale back social media
engagement and swap the time for more presence with people
and things that matter.
WHEN IN DOUBT, ZOOM OUT.
Never get stuck in the perspective from your eyeballs out.
From here, you can only construct a limited model of the world.
Hack💥
Use your imagination to zoom out and see yourself from a broader perspective: your timeline, your trajectory, your maneuvers, and the players around you. Connect with a version of yourself you wish for 5-7 years further out in your timeline. What would that look like? What would that take?
AUTO-PILOT
Wealth building is boring and commands consistency.
Don't leave that on a to-do list in a "High noise to signal ratio" world.
Hack💥
Pay off debt or invest by always using scheduled auto-transfers, then you make do with what is left (pay yourself first).
INVERT - INVERT (inspired by Charlie Munger)
It is a mental exercise where you examine the opposite of what you want.
Hack💥
Rather than looking for how to be successful in achieving a goal, you ask what would produce failure. You imagine a project or goal you are about to start did not work out. Now you ponder the reasons.
LUCK SURFACE (inspired by Sahil Bloom)
Some people seem to have "luck on their side". But if you examine it closer, you'll find that they pursue luck, not by chasing it as much as habitually orienting/positioning themselves toward opportunity in big and small.
Hack💥
Consciously maximize the chances of encountering fortunate events by actively increasing the "surface" upon which luck can "land". Something as simple as "showing up" can make a huge difference - to meet new people, to attend events, to sign up for [...] to live with a "what if?" mentality.
